Bruschetta with Roasted Garlic - January 7, 2006

LOCATION: Recipes >> Bruschetta

BruschettaBruschetta is one of the simplest Italian snacks you can make. Bruschetta is also known as 'Crostini' which means in Italian 'little toasts'. The thin slices of bread are toasted, drizzled with olive oil, and served warm. They may be topped with a savory, finely diced mixture such as cheese, vegatables, meat or seafood.

Bruschetta, in Italian, refers to thick slices of country bread usually topped with a tomato and basil mixture. We used to make these treats with our garden fresh tomatoes and herbs in the fall.

They can be very satisfying if you make them with good extravirgin olive oil and garden fresh tomatoes.
